Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens came up short during their 2024 season-opener against the Kansas City Chiefs. It's Jackson's fifth loss to Patrick Mahomes in six games, including postseason matches. However, as a consolation, the reigning NFL Most Valuable Player completed another quarterback rushing record.
As the Ravens’ official account on X/Twitter posted, Jackson has the most 100-yard rushing games of any NFL quarterback. His 122 rushing yards in 16 attempts against the Chiefs was his 14th game to go over the century mark. He also added 26 completions for 273 passing yards and a touchdown in the losing cause.
Jackson’s 100-yard rushing games increase to 17 if you add two postseason matches against the Tennessee Titans (143 in 2019 and 136 in 2020) and one with the Houston Texans (100 in 2023). The former Louisville standout had a career-high 152 rushing yards in October 2019 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Likewise, he had four games with multiple touchdown runs, including two in last year’s playoff game against Houston. In those 14 regular season games, Jackson tallied 213 carries for 1,619 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns.
In addition to his 17 career 100-yard rushing games, Jackson is the only quarterback in NFL history with multiple 1,000-yard rushing seasons. His 1,206 yards and seven touchdowns in 2019 helped him earn his first NFL MVP Award. A year later, he had 1,005 rushing yards out of 159 carries. As of Week 1 of 2024, Jackson has 891 carries for 5,380 yards and 29 touchdowns.
Jackson’s scrambling ability will be handy when they play their 2024 home opener against the Las Vegas Raiders on September 15.
