Gardner Minshew And Brock Bowers Having An Exceptional Start For The Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders earned a massive 2024 Week 2 road victory over the Baltimore Ravens 26-23. That win wouldn’t be possible without quarterback Gardner Minshew II and rookie tight end Brock Bowers. Minshew had 30 completions for 276 yards and a touchdown, while Bowers had nine receptions for 98 yards.

These two players are part of the NFL’s best after Week 2. Minshew’s 533 passing yards are tied with Matthew Stafford for second place. First place, Brock Purdy, is not far away with 550. Meanwhile, Minshew’s 55 completions and 77.5 completion percentage lead the league.

Minshew’s early success has a positive impact on Bowers, who leads all tight ends in targets (17), catches (15), receiving yards (156), and plays of at least 20 yards (3). He has 19 receiving yards, more than second-place Isaiah Likely, and 29 more yards than Hunter Henry.

With Davante Adams still performing at a high level, Minshew and Bowers create a formidable offensive nucleus for the Raiders. However, with 15 regular season games remaining, it’s too early to tell if they can sustain this success into a playoff berth.

However, before getting there, the Raiders must deal with the Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, and Denver Broncos in their next three games. They will also face the Pittsburgh Steelers, Los Angeles Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, and Cincinnati Bengals before their Week 10 bye.
