Brandon Aubrey Making A Case For NFL's Best Kicker

Even musician Post Malone became a part of the Brandon Aubrey fans club when he sought the Dallas Cowboys placekicker’s autograph. It’s hard to blame the successful recording artist because the special teams ace from Notre Dame continues to dazzle with his kicking power and accuracy.

The 29-year-old kicker added to his legend during his 2024 Week 4 Thursday Night Football game against the New York Giants. Aubrey converted two of three field goal attempts, including one from 60 yards. That third-quarter connection extended the Cowboys lead to 17-12. Meanwhile, his second field goal, a 40-yarder, sealed the Cowboys' total to 20 points.

Aubrey has converted 92.3 percent of his field goal attempts through four games. That number translates to 12 successful kicks out of 13 tries, and his only miss (so far) this season also came against the Giants. Aubrey missed a 51-yarder, which could have pushed their lead to eight with 32 seconds left in regulation.

More importantly, he has three career field goals of at least 60 yards, putting him one behind record-holder Brett Maher. Aubrey also joins Maher, Matt Prater, and Greg Zuerlein as the only NFL placekickers with at least three field goals from 60 yards or more.

Brandon Aubrey's excellence to start the 2024 NFL season is merely a continuation of his impressive rookie season, wherein he converted 36 out of 38 field goal tries and 49 of 52 extra points. Aubrey finished his 2023 campaign with ten field goals from 50 yards or more.
