It took an interception from cornerback Amani Oruwariye to seal the Dallas Cowboys’ 2024 Week 4 Thursday Night Football victory against the New York Giants. With the Giants threatening to score a touchdown on their final drive, the heads-up defensive play preserved Dallas’ 20-15 triumph to improve to 2-2.
While Greg Joseph’s field goal had the Giants on the scoreboard first, the Cowboys reached the end zone when Dak Prescott found Rico Dowdle for a 15-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter. Then, the All-Pro quarterback connected with fellow All-Pro CeeDee Lamb for a 55-yard touchdown pass that stretched their lead to 14-6.
Brandon Aubrey’s two field goal conversions and two extra points completed the Cowboys’ tally. Conversely, the Giants failed to score a touchdown, as Joseph’s five field goal conversions kept New York’s NFC team in the game.

Prescott finished the game with 22 completions for 221 yards and two touchdowns, while Daniel Jones had 29 passes for 281 yards. Unfortunately, Oruwariye stole Jones’ intended pass to Jalin Hyatt at the Cowboys’ four-yard line, giving the Giants their third loss in four matches.
The Cowboys have split their first four games despite the Giants having more first downs (16-14) and total yards (303-293). However, the Cowboys gained more yards per play (5.7) and limited the Giants to 26 rushing yards.
Dallas can improve to 3-2 with a win against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Oct. 6. However, Micah Parsons’ status for that game is in limbo after suffering a high ankle sprain in this Thursday Night Football showdown.
