FIUSER0824 Wins Blackout

Victor Kites from Black Diamond, WA and his team FIUSER0824 win Week 5 of the Blackout with 256.25 points.

Victor took a circuitous route to the top this week. While he started the QB3, Lamar Jackson, the WR1 Ja’Marr Chase and the TE2, Brock Bowers, his roster was not peppered with top finishers the way most of this season’s winners have been. The AFC Bonanza helped, as did nabbing one of the top scoring defenses (Denver) but it was consistency throughout the roster that put FIUSER0824 over the top. He was inside the top 10 at all but 3 roster positions. (Click through to see his winning lineup, the perfect lineup for the week, the most frequently picked players, and the overall top 25.)

Thanks to everyone for participating in Week 5’s AFC Bonanza. To offset that glut of points, the theme for Week 6 is “No Mercy!” All restrictions will be removed, anyone and everyone is eligible to be blacked out and I have no plans to make it easy!

Week 6 of the Blackout is live

Everyone in this Week’s Top 5 selected Lamar Jackson(QB3), Ja’Marr Chase(WR1) and Nico Collins(WR17). Victor selected Josh Allen(QB16) as his second quarterback which should have scuttled his roster since his QB score was 19.64 points lower than the average QB score of the others in the Top 5. James Cook(RB6) was a huge difference maker. The other 4 top finishers all ran afoul of Aaron Jones(RB25) or Breece Hall(RB23) allowing the FIUSER0824s to beat the average RB score of the other top 4 by 13.98 points. Similarly at WR, Victor’s WRs beat the average of the other top finishers by 10.70 points behind the timely return of Garret Wilson(WR5). Check out this week’s winning roster:

This Week’s AFC Bonanza was bound to be bad for the Blackout as 7 of the 13 spots on the Perfect roster were filled by the American Conference. The only player the Blackout removed from the Perfect Score was the Minnesota Vikings Defense, which put up the same score as two other defenses. The Falcon’s big game on Thursday took both the Blackout and the Field by surprise. Three of the top scores came from Atlanta but Drake London(WR2) was the most popular selection at a measly 2.08%. The shocking performance by Tank Bigsby(RB1) was predicted by literally no one. Likewise, the New York Giants’ Defense put up the Top Score this week but also appeared on no rosters. GREGH987 returned to form in Week 5 finishing 7th for his 3rd Top 10 finish on the season. The top of the leaderboard is crowded with Blackout veterans and it’s still early, but GREGH987 looks extremely formidable as we enter the 2nd quarter of the season. This week’s champ, FIUSER0824 climbed to 6th place with the win. He has a 17th and 61st place finish on the year. A little feedback from a long time customer.

Our fantasy pool is entering its 25^th year and I have used multiple books and on-line tools over the years.

I have locked on to Fantasy Index as my go to for the last 5 years and have won the pool 3 of those years and finished no lower than 4^th.

Interesting to see how much more accurate you were at the end of the year compared to other books my competitors used.

I wanted to thank you for such an amazing product and your customer service. I ordered the wrong date for my update and called to correct the mistake. Your customer service person was very kind, helpful and took care of the issue immediately.

I have used your product for the past 18 years or so… Every now and then I will be tempted and look at what other magazines have to offer, quickly realizing no one comes close.

In addition to the magazine, I started buying the weekly updates years ago when my dad taught me a lesson. The draft came and dad was sitting in the 12 hole for his pick. He told me he felt very comfortable about who he was going to select but would not tell me who his prized gem was to be. I was doubtful. The pick? Priest Holmes (his first dynamite year). I remember telling my dad, "that is a decent pick but they plan to pull him at the goal line." Ever the teacher, dad explained he had purchased the Fantasy Football Index update and read Holmes would get the goal line carries. "Update?", I asked. That was 2002 and Holmes had 21 rushing TDs and Dad won the title! Lesson learned.

By the way, I have made the title game for the last 5 years in a row. Thanks for the detailed, hard work and an great product!
