Yesterday, multiple news outlets confirmed that Michael Pittman Jr. might miss several weeks of action due to a back injury, with the possibility of going to injured reserve. However, that wasn’t the case during a recent Indianapolis Colts practice because he looked healthy.
The Athletic’s James Boyd noted that during the Colts’ recent red zone drill, Pittman caught two passes in the end zone from quarterback Anthony Richardson. Those catches indicate that Pittman seems to be moving well and isn’t bothered by the injury.
If Pittman had his way, he would like to play during their Week 6 game against the Tennessee Titans. However, in a post-practice interview, he expressed that the decision is with Colts head coach Shane Steichen.

Will he play? “We’ll see what happens, but nothing’s guaranteed …”
Can he make it worse? “There’s a lot of things to consider …”

Through Week 5, Pittman is second among Colts receivers with 238 yards. In addition to having one touchdown catch, he leads the team in receptions (22) and yards after the catch (80).
Pittman had a season-high 113 yards during Indianapolis’ Week 4 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. A week later, he had 37 yards and a touchdown in their loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. It’s his only TD catch in the first five games of the 2024 NFL season.
