Mark Andrews Breaks Franchise Record In Ravens' Victory Over Buccaneers

The Baltimore Ravens’ top performers led the way during their Week 7 Monday Night Football victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Lamar Jackson had five touchdown passes, while Derrick Henry had 169 rushing yards. Rashod Bateman also contributed 121 receiving yards and a touchdown. While their numbers are commendable, Mark Andrews became part of the Ravens record books in the same game.

Andrews finished the game with four receptions for 41 yards for two touchdowns. Those scoring catches make him the franchise leader in touchdown receptions with 42 (and counting). His fellow tight end, Todd Heap, held the record with 41 touchdown catches. Torrey Smith is third with 30, while Derrick Mason had 29.

It’s an excellent achievement for Andrews after returning from his fibula and ankle injury last season. While he made it back in time for the playoffs, he wasn’t the same player who earned three Pro Bowl selections in six seasons.

In addition to those achievements, Andrews also had a First-Team All-Pro selection in 2021, when he established career highs in receptions (107) and receiving yards (1,361). Andrews owns other Ravens franchise records, such as the most touchdown receptions by a tight end in a season with ten. He can still break that record in 2024 if he regains the form that made him one of the league’s top tight ends.
