The Denver Broncos are on a roll after winning four of their last five games. While their offense has done its part during this successful stretch, their defense deserves much credit for keeping the team in contention.
As the NFL on CBS account on X/Twitter pointed out, the Broncos offensive line has allowed only nine sacks, tied for first in the league. Meanwhile, Denver’s defensive line has generated 28 sacks, the second-best total through Week 7. It’s a balanced effort by the Broncos defensive front, led by Nik Bonitto’s five sacks. Jonathon Cooper has 4.5, while Zach Allen has four. Justin Strnad and John Franklin-Myers have three sacks apiece.
Likewise, Pro Football Focus pointed out that the Broncos have the most pressures with 156, 16 more than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. These hurries helped them rank third in total yards allowed (282.4) and fifth in passing yards allowed (170.7) per game. They also have limited opponents to an average of 15.1 points per game, the third-best in the NFL.

At 4-3, the Broncos are in the mix for playoff contention. Doing so would snap the franchise’s eight-season postseason drought and usher in a new brand of Broncos football. But before aspiring for loftier goals, the Broncos must take it one game at a time, starting with their Week 8 game against the Carolina Panthers.
