The Baltimore Ravens have completed a trade for wide receiver Diontae Johnson and a 2025 sixth-round pick. In return, the Carolina Panthers will receive a 2025 fifth-round selection. The deal ends Johnson’s stint with Carolina after seven games.
Johnson will boost the Ravens' passing attack, especially if he reverts to his 2021 form. That year, the wideout from Toledo earned a Pro Bowl selection after finishing with 107 receptions for 1,161 yards and eight touchdowns for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Since then, he has continued to deliver solid numbers for the team that selected him in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He had 882 yards in 2022 and 717 yards and five touchdowns in 2023. Despite those numbers, the Steelers traded him to the Panthers for cornerback Donte Jackson and a 2024 sixth-round pick.

Johnson finished with 30 catches for 357 yards and three touchdowns in seven games for the Panthers. However, despite his effort, the Panthers went 1-6 during his tenure. Therefore, his luck improved as he joined a team with legitimate playoff aspirations.
While the Ravens lost to the Cleveland Browns in Week 8, they still are in good shape with a 5-3 record. Johnson can start making an impact for the Ravens in their Week 9 game against the Denver Broncos at home.
