The New York Giants had an opportunity to send their Week 8 Monday Night Football game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in overtime. However, it wasn’t meant to be, as Beanie Bishop Jr. intercepted Daniel Jones’ pass to Devin Singletary to secure a 26-18 victory.
However, Bishop’s interception was hardly the only big play in Pittsburgh’s triumph. Instead, they made significant contributions in all three phases of football. On defense, T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith wreaked havoc on the Giants’ offensive line, combining for four sacks, six quarterback hits, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. Those numbers earned them Pro Football Focus grades of 91.7 and 91.3, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Steelers special teams also contributed via Calvin Austin III’s punt return touchdown. On offense, Austin caught a touchdown pass from Russell Wilson, while Najee Harris had 19 carries for 114 yards. George Pickens led all Steelers receivers with four catches for 74 yards.
The entire squad secured Pittsburgh’s sixth victory in eight games and improved their home record to 3-1. More importantly, they are leading the highly competitive AFC North after the Baltimore Ravens lost to the Cleveland Browns and the Cincinnati Bengals fell to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 8.
If the Steelers defeat the Washington Commanders in Week 10 after their bye, they can extend their winning streak to four games. That win will also inch head coach Mike Tomlin closer to another winning season.
