As the halfway point of the 2024 NFL season approaches, the playoff picture for both conferences starts taking shape. Conversely, there’s also the race for the number one overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The 33rd Team NFL writer Ari Meirov tweeted that ten teams have two wins or less entering Week 9. Included in the mix are the 2-6 New York Jets, who have four-time NFL Most Valuable Player Aaron Rodgers at quarterback. Trading for Davante Adams hasn’t helped, as they’ve lost two consecutive games since he joined the squad.
The other teams with two wins are the New England Patriots, Jacksonville Jaguars, Cleveland Browns, Las Vegas Raiders, New York Giants, New Orleans Saints, and Miami Dolphins. Only the Patriots and the Browns won in Week 8. New England defeated the Jets, while the Browns upset their division rivals, the Baltimore Ravens.
Ten teams—over 30% of the NFL—have two wins or fewer heading into Week 9:

Finally, the Tennessee Titans and the Carolina Panthers have one win each. The Panthers’ only victory came in Week 3 against the Raiders, while the Titans beat the Dolphins in Week 4. However, since the Titans had their bye in Week 5, the Panthers have the worst record at 1-7, while the Titans are at 1-6.
While these teams are not yet out of the playoff picture, they need a solid second half to turn their season around.
