The Philadelphia Eagles are off to a great start in their 2024 campaign, winning five of their first seven games. They could have been 6-1 if not for that bitter one-point loss in Week 2 against the Atlanta Falcons. However, while they are poised for another postseason berth, they are winning games despite starting slowly.
They haven’t scored in the first quarter of all their games this season. That streak dates back to Week 18 of last season, giving them nine consecutive first quarters without a score. The last time they registered first-quarter points was in Week 17 last season when Jalen Hurts found Julio Jones in the end zone for a touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals.
The #Eagles have now gone their first seven games without scoring in the first quarter this season.

Despite their slow start, the Eagles have finished most games strongly. In their last game against the Cincinnati Bengals, they scored 37 points in the final three quarters. Philadelphia scored 28 against the New York Giants in Week 7 and 34 versus the Green Bay Packers in Week 1.
However, failing to score points in the first 15 minutes could also backfire, as in their 33-16 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4. The Eagles must buck this disappointing trend, or they might struggle in the second half of the season.
They must score quickly in their remaining games, as they still have two games left against the Washington Commanders and Dallas Cowboys. Also on their schedule are the Los Angeles Rams, Baltimore Ravens, and Pittsburgh Steelers. The Eagles could be left behind if they continue to have zero points in the first quarter.
