The Minnesota Vikings have completed a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars for left tackle Cam Robinson. As ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter tweeted, the Vikings will get Robinson and a conditional 2026 seventh-round pick that could be voided based on playing time. Meanwhile, the Jaguars get a conditional 2026 fifth-rounder that could become a fourth-rounder based on Robinson’s minutes.
The Vikings traded for Robinson after Christian Darrisaw suffered a season-ending knee injury during their Week 8 game against the Los Angeles Rams. To that point, Darrisaw had two accepted penalties and a false start in 532 snaps.
The Jaguars selected Robinson in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Before entering the pros, he was a National Champion, a Unanimous All-American, and an Outland Trophy winner for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

This season, Robinson has a 69.4 overall mark and a 72.2 pass-blocking grade from Pro Football Focus. In his last four games with the Jaguars, his pass-blocking mark never went below 78.5.
Trading for Robinson makes sense because they are in playoff contention midway into the season. However, after winning their first five games, they’ve lost their last two to the Detroit Lions and the Rams.
Providing solid protection for Sam Darnold, especially from his blind side (left), could help the Vikings rediscover their winning ways. Therefore, Robinson can help the Vikings get back on track starting in Week 9 against the Indianapolis Colts.
