The National Football League named New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson, Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson, and Buffalo Bills placekicker Tyler Bass as the best players for the American Football Conference in Week 9 of the 2024 NFL season.
Wilson was the AFC Offensive Player of the Week after tallying nine catches for 90 yards and two touchdowns in the Jets’ Thursday Night Football victory over the Houston Texans. One of those receptions was a jaw-dropping one-handed TD catch that rivals Odell Beckham Jr.’s iconic reception. Wilson’s numbers improved to 60 catches for 663 yards and five touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Hendrickson was the AFC Defensive Player of the Week after racking up four sacks, a forced fumble, and a pass deflection in their victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. His output made him the league leader in sacks with 11, followed by Dexter Lawrence II with nine.
Finally, Bass is the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after converting all three field goal attempts against the Miami Dolphins. One of his kicks was a 61-yarder that sealed Buffalo’s seventh win in nine games.
