As ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter tweeted, the Houston Texans have designated wide receiver Nico Collins to return to the practice window. Collins has been out of action since Week 5, when he suffered a hamstring injury against the Buffalo Bills.
Collins was in his groove before the injury, as proven by his 32 receptions for 567 yards and three touchdowns. He had 117 yards in their season opener against the Indianapolis Colts, 135 in Week 2 versus the Chicago Bears, and 151 yards in Week 4 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It's a great start after signing a three-year, $75 million contract extension this offseason.
Even in the games where he didn't reach 100 yards, he had 86 against the Minnesota Vikings and 78 in two catches versus the Bills. He averaged 17.7 yards per catch through five games and 113.4 yards per game.

With Collins set to return from injured reserve, it's only a matter of time before he steps on the field again. If everything goes well, he could return to action in Week 10 when the Texans host the Detroit Lions.
Collins' return boosts an offensive unit that is struggling with injuries. Dameon Pierce is out, while Stefon Diggs suffered a season-ending injury. Their absence led to the Texans losing two of their last three games, including a 21-13 setback against the New York Jets.
