Dolphins Saved Florida With Monday Night Football Victory

Before the Miami Dolphins took the field against the Los Angeles Rams, Florida’s football teams were 0-11, including the teams from the Football Bowl Subdivision and Football Championship Subdivision. However, the Mike McDaniel-coached squad saved the state with a 23-15 road victory over the Rams.

The victory snapped Miami’s three-game losing streak and gave them their second victory in their last eight games. More importantly, the win kept the Dolphins’ playoff hopes alive, which would have been more difficult if they fell to 2-7.

Tua Tagovailoa finally led the Dolphins to victory after his return from concussion. He threw 20 completions for 207 yards and a touchdown pass to Tyreek Hill. The Dolphins stormed to a 17-6 lead after Tagovailoa found Hill in the end zone. The Rams tried catching up but could muster only three field goals.

Earlier in the game, Malik Washington broke the scoring with an 18-yard rushing score. Except for Hill’s touchdown, the game has been a field goal battle between Jason Sanders and the Rams’ Joshua Karty. In comparison, while Karty had more conversions than Sanders, Miami’s touchdowns augmented Sanders’ three field goals.

The Dolphins hope that this victory will commence their playoff push. Next on their schedule are road games against the Las Vegas Raiders and the New England Patriots. However, they will be playing without right tackle Austin Jackson because of his season-ending knee injury that required surgery.
