The San Francisco 49ers are barely in contention after their first eight games this season. They’ve split those games before their Week 9 bye, putting them behind the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC West. However, the bye is when the Niners typically turn things around, and they’re off to a good start after their Week 10 victory.
The Fox Sports NFL account on X (formerly Twitter) pointed out that since 2022, the 49ers have a 17-2 record after their bye. Both losses came in 2023 when they lost to the Baltimore Ravens and the Los Angeles Rams.
Meanwhile, San Francisco improved that record after defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The game also marks Christian McCaffrey’s return from an Achilles injury.

The reigning Offensive Player of the Year had 39 rushing and 68 receiving yards in his first game this season. While those are not eye-popping stats, his return is a tremendous upgrade for an offense that has lost Brandon Aiyuk to a season-ending injury.
Meanwhile, Brock Purdy had 29 completions for 353 yards and two touchdowns. He distributed the ball evenly, allowing five receivers to finish with at least 57 yards.
Now on their first winning streak this season, the 49ers can extend their winning ways to three games against their division rival, the Seattle Seahawks, in Week 11.
