Chris Boswell Lifts Steelers Over Ravens

Since contests between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens typically go down to the wire, every point counts. Steelers placekicker Chris Boswell understood the memo and did his part to lead his squad to victory.

Boswell scored all 18 Steelers points through six field goals. His tally includes conversions from 50, 52, and 57 yards. His production proved enough after the Ravens failed to score on a two-point conversion that would have tied the game.

His output against their division rival improved Boswell’s conversion rate to 96.7 percent (29 of 30). His only missed field goal through Week 11 was in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Chargers. He’s had seven games with multiple field goal conversions, including two with six field goals. In addition, Boswell has converted all 20 extra points.

These numbers proved why Boswell remains as the Steelers’ preeminent placekicker. He has been Pittsburgh’s kicker since 2015. He has one Pro Bowl selection throughout his career and holds the record for most field goals converted in a postseason game with six.

Meanwhile, his performance against the Ravens was his third game with six field goal conversions, the most in NFL history. With seven regular season games remaining, Boswell is only seven field goals away from tying his career-high 36 conversions in a season. He can reduce that gap in the Steelers’ next game against another division rival, the Cleveland Browns.
