DRUMGATE Wins Blackout

Darren Castillo from Placentia, CA and his team DRUMGATE win Week 11 of the Blackout with 259.45 points.

In a week full of big numbers Darren put up the highest top score of the season, beating out the Week 5 AFC Bonanza and crushing the season average by 32.86 points. That’s also good for the 2nd highest percentage of the max score. We also had the 3rd highest perfect score and the Wisdom of the Crowd roster decimated all prior weeks with the 2nd highest score and a staggering 70.89% of the max score. The average before this week was 59.5%.

Thanks to everyone for participating in Week 11 of the Blackout. Week 12 is an NFC Bonanza. The top scoring player at each position on NFC teams will be available! Week 13 will be a Thanksgiving themed player pool.

Week 12 of the Blackout is live

Week 11 reversed the trend of diverse rosters among the Top 5 somewhat. All 5 top rosters included Taysom Hill(TE1) and the 49ers Defense(DST2). Beyond that we had a fair amount of overlap. Breece Hall(RB1) was on 3 of the top 5, as was Tyreek Hill(WR7) and Jonnu Smith(TE2). What gave DRUMGATE the advantage was hitting on the big games at both QB and TE. The top 3 rosters all started both Taysom Hill(TE1) and Jonnu Smith(TE2) but only Darren selected both Jared Goff(QB1) and Matthew Stafford(QB2). That gave him a 14.42 point advantage at QB and was enough to lock up the win. Check out this week’s winning roster:

The Blackout was probably a bit too efficient this week. 17 top scoring players were ineligible. A good week this season has been 12, so it’s safe to say this is something of an outlier. You’ll notice that many of the top players were also highly selected but guys like Matthew Stafford (QB2) and all three of the top WRs languished in the single digits. The most selected roster had the best week of the season by far with 225.55 points. That’s 3 points less than the AFC Bonanza back in Week 5, but it’s the largest percentage of available points by far, 70.89%. There were some busts. Russell Wilson(QB16) did not work out. Kyle Pitts(TE16) was a disaster. Not pictured is Tucker Kraft(TEinf) who missed his lone target for a goose egg. He was the third most selected TE at 30.74%. Taysom Hill’s monster game came through for a third of entries. The QB1, Jared Goff dropping 50+ for the second week in a row was a good pick. He’ll be available again in Week 12 as part of the NFC Bonanza. Take a look at the most selected roster:

Week 11 saw Joe Kapp finishing 34th to blow past Northern King to take the overall lead. Northern King is now in 2nd and trailing by 36.35 behind a 190th finish. He ended up in the Russell Wilson trap and took busts from Kareem Hunt and Jake Ferguson. GregH987 is battling to stay in 3rd after another off week. These three are in a heated battle for the top spot but really anyone in the Top 50 is in contention. A Top 10 finish or two can really shake things up so keep after it!
