Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew and Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham will be out for the remainder of the 2024 NFL season due to injuries. While they share the same fate, their teams have contrasting fates.
Minshew’s campaign ended abruptly after suffering a broken collarbone injury during their Week 12 loss against the Denver Broncos. He finished the game with 25 completions for 230 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. Minshew’s first season with the Raiders ended after ten games, and he finished with 203 completions for 2,013 yards, nine touchdowns, and ten interceptions.
However, the Raiders dropped to 2-9 following the loss to their division rival. While Minshew signed a two-year deal with Las Vegas, it’s uncertain that he will remain the Raiders’ starter next season, especially if they get the top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Raiders could still rally to clinch a postseason berth but might need the help of other teams to qualify.
Meanwhile, Graham will miss the rest of the season due to a torn triceps. He had two tackles and a sack in the Eagles’ victory over the Los Angeles Rams. As he declared during the 2024 offseason that this run would be his last, the one-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro might have played his final NFL game.

If that’s the end, the first-round pick in the 2010 draft played his entire 14-season career with the Eagles. He had 18 tackles, four quarterback hits, 2.5 sacks, and a forced fumble before the injury. If his retirement pushes through, Graham has 485 tackles, 150 quarterback hits, 75.5 sacks, and 22 forced fumbles throughout his career.
While Graham might be out for the season, the Eagles are in the thick of the NFC playoff race after earning their ninth win in 11 games. Philadelphia defeated the Los Angeles Rams to improve their road record to 5-1.
