Saquon Barkley’s highlight reel with the Philadelphia Eagles rapidly grows every week. From his reverse hurdle against the Jacksonville Jaguars, he established the franchise record for most rushing yards in a game during their Sunday Night Football victory over the Los Angeles Rams.
Barkley finished with 26 carries for 255 yards and two touchdowns. In addition to being a franchise record, it’s the ninth-most rushing yards in a game throughout NFL history. His total is two yards better than Jonathan Taylor (2021) and DeMarco Murray (2011) accomplished for the Indianapolis Colts and the Dallas Cowboys, respectively.
The All-Pro running back had rushing touchdowns of 70 and 72 yards, both coming in the second half. His first touchdown extended Philadelphia’s lead 19-7. Meanwhile, his 72-yard rushing score in the fourth quarter was an exclamation point to the Eagles’ dominating 37-20 victory.

He also had a 31-yard run that allowed Kenneth Gainwell to score a 13-yard rushing touchdown. The former Penn State standout registered 182 rushing yards in the second half and added four catches for 47 yards in Philadelphia’s ninth win in 11 games.
Barkley also established a personal best with this output, eclipsing his 189 yards with the New York Giants. More importantly, he strengthened his case for Offensive Player of the Year as he leads the league with 1,392 rushing yards, surpassing Derrick Henry. It’s already his career-best single-season total with six games remaining.
After defeating the Rams on the road, the Eagles stay in the hunt for the NFC’s top seed in the upcoming playoffs. However, clinching the top spot won’t be easy because they will face the Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Washington Commanders. Luckily for the Eagles, Barkley is playing the best football in his career.
