Last offseason, the running back market devalued as some marquee names failed to secure contract extensions or were offered the franchise tag. Jonathan Taylor was the only notable running back who succeeded after agreeing to a three-year, $42 million contract extension.

New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll said on Tuesday that running back SAQUON BARKLEY is “in the day-to-day category” leading up to a Monday night showdown against the Seattle Seahawks.More Barkley suffered a high ankle sprain in the Giants Week #2 game and missed last Thursday night’s game against San Francisco. An MRI on New York Giants running back SAQUON BARKLEY’s injured ankle on Monday revealed that the star running back suffered a low ankle sprain toward the end of Sunday’s gameMore against the Arizona Cardinals. The timetable for Barkley’s return is three weeks, meaning fantasy owners will need to make alternate plans for the next few games. Before the injury, Barkley scored a rushing and a receiving touchdown as the Giants made a furious comeback to win a game that looked all but lost early on.
