Russell Wilson Outduels Joe Burrow In Steelers Week 13 Victory

While the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals completed another classic duel, Russell Wilson and the Steelers had the last laugh thanks to a monster game from the one-time Super Bowl winner.

Wilson finished the game with 29 completions for a season-high 414 yards and three touchdowns. The veteran quarterback found George Pickens in the end zone, helping level the count at seven in the first quarter.

The same goes for Wilson’s second touchdown pass, as he found Calvin Austin III for a 23-yard score. After which, Chris Boswell tied the count at 14 with an extra point. Conversely, Wilson’s third touchdown pass, a 25-yard strike to Pat Freiermuth, extended Pittsburgh’s lead to nine, 33-24.

More importantly, the Steelers defeated their division rivals and retained their lead in the highly competitive AFC North. Pittsburgh improves to 9-3, even if Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (28 completions, 309 yards, three touchdowns) had a solid game. Likewise, the victory retained head coach Mike Tomlin’s distinction of not having a losing season.

Meanwhile, Wilson has delivered for the Steelers since he took over from Justin Fields. The 36-year-old quarterback has completed 65.8 percent of his throws (123 of 187) for 1,626 yards, ten touchdowns, and only three interceptions. Wilson and the Steelers can start another winning streak by defeating another division rival, the Cleveland Browns, in Week 14.
