Kenneth Yuen from Arlington Heights, IL and his team It Ertz when I Lose win Week 16 of the Blackout with 246.95 points.

Kenneth combined four of the top scoring players with some shrewd deep picks to claim a narrow victory.

You may have have noticed that there is a special player pool for Week 17. To celebrate the season of giving, the Top 5 players at each position are eligible this week! One week left to go in the 2024 Blackout after this so make the most of this final points bonanza!

Week 17 of the Blackout is live

Kenneth’s team, It Ertz when I Lose, is one you may have noticed on the leaderboard due to having one of the best team names in the contest. The win is just his 6th Top 100 finish of the season but it propelled him from 97th to 75th place overall, a solid showing with one week left. Although the winning margin was very thin, just 1.8 points, Kennth achieved it in a dominating fashion. He was the only manager in the Top 5 to cash in on Jonathan Taylor’s monster game, leading him to beat the average Top 5 RB score by 13.60 points! He also showed no mercy at tight end. The other top finishers all selected TJ Hockenson(TE13) which allowed It Erts when I Lose to honor their namesake when their pair of Mark Andrews(TE5) and David Njoku(TE3) led the other Top 5 by 7.75 points at the position.

The Blackout was serviceable again this week. Six of the top scores were ineligible, again. The Perfect Score’s roster scored 313.90, just above the season average of 310 points. The Panther’s have been looking better on offense but not a single manager predicted Bryce Young’s QB2 finish this week. Keenan Allen(WR1) has been riding a hot streak but received surprisingly little love in the Blackout, appearing under 2% of rosters. Jameson Williams(WR3), Chigoziem Okonkwo(TE1) and Dalton Schultz(TE2) also blew past all our expectations, each was rostered by under 2% of managers. The Blackout made a big dent at DST where the Top 3 scoring DST were ineligible. That didn’t stop big percentages of managers from selecting the Top 2 eligible DST the Bengals and the Eagles. The most selected roster scored 70.58% of the maximum points. That’s just the second time the crowd has topped 70% this season and is just a hair off the highest mark set back in Week 13. The only offensive player to bust was Travis Kelce(TE10) who did finally pay off for managers in Week 17, which got an early start on Christmas Day. Kelce went off for 84 yards and a touchdown on 8 of 11 receiving yesterday. That’s just in time for managers to have finally turned on the future hall of famer. Just 8.29% of managers held the faith long enough to finally hit the pay off. In this version, Week 16, Kelce earned just 8.00 points for the 39% of managers who selected him. Go figure! Week 16 saw the hard fought battle at the top of the leaderboard finally turn. Joe Kapp, who took over the top spot back in Week 11 and held if since, finished 114th this week. His second consecutive finish outside the Top 100 after 7 straight weeks in the Top 100. He slid all the way down to 4th place and is 14.55 points off the pace. The new overall leader is Northern King who has been knocking on the door since first breaking into the Top 25 in Week 3. He finished 11th in Week 16 to take the lead and climb out to a 8.95 point margin. Tom Take Two maintained his hold on 2nd place with a 46th place finish, Bull 51 climbed from 6th to 3rd behind a 5th place finish and Scott K rounds out the Top 5 after moving to 5th from 9th with a 4th place finish this week. With two weeks to go, there are a bunch of managers who could win this year, not just the Top 5. Buckle up for an exciting finish to the 2024 Fantasy Index Blackout!
