It's the last morning of the regular season. A few updates, some injury related and some pertaining to the playoff picture.
First and foremost, the wins yesterday by the Ravens and Bengals ensure the Chargers have something to play for in their game at Las Vegas today. If Los Angeles wins, they'll be the No. 5 seed and play at Houston in the first round of the playoffs. If Los Angeles loses, they'll be the No. 6 seed and play at Baltimore. I would not want to say anything unkind or unflattering about the Texans, but when they faced Baltimore 11 days ago, they lost 31-2. So I am of the opinion that Jim Harbaugh and company will see value in earning the higher seed, and will be playing to win today.
One injury update from yesterday. Zay Flowers left Baltimore's win with a knee injury. It's being called a knee sprain, so Baltimore's top wide receiver is expected to miss at least the first round of the playoffs (and I'd call him iffy for the second round, as well). If you're in a playoff competition of some kind, Rashod Bateman is a better selection as Baltimore's No. 1 wideout. Oh, and Najee Harris left last night's game late to be evaluated for a concussion, so he'll be iffy for the wild-card round if he's in the protocol. (And if he plays, there's a decent chance he's Najee Harris playing at Baltimore, which isn't a desirable situation.)
As for today, Tony Pollard is expected to play through his ankle injury against the Texans. Pollard has some contract incentives, at least one of which is reasonable if he has a good game today.
Darnell Mooney (shoulder) won't play today. The Falcons are alive for the playoffs (if you consider the Saints upsetting the Bucs a remote possibility), but they'll probably be going without Mooney. KhaDarel Hodge and Ray-Ray McCloud are the wide receivers you should not start.
Eagles will start Tanner McKee at quarterback today. McKee will be throwing to nobody reserve wideouts and handing the ball off to backup running backs.
In other news, the Browns have fired offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, which probably means he'll be interviewing with the Jets for their head coaching job soon.
