The Tampa Bay Buccaneers already had their Week 18 game against the New Orleans Saints won. However, there’s still time to keep Mike Evans’ streak of 1,000-yard seasons going. Quarterback Baker Mayfield found him with less than a minute left, and Evans did the rest. He dashed for enough yards to reach the thousand mark.
In addition to keeping his streak intact, Evans earned an additional $3 million in incentives after finishing with nine receptions for 89 yards. He closed the season with 74 catches for 1,004 yards. Evans and Hall of Famer Jerry Rice are the only NFL players with 11 consecutive 1,000-yard seasons. However, the former Texas A&M standout is the only player to start his career with 11 consecutive 1,000-yard seasons.

Evans’ consistency earned him five Pro Bowl selections, two Second Team All-Pro nods, and a Super Bowl title. In addition to those accolades, he helped the Buccaneers win the NFC South for the fourth consecutive season and enter the playoffs for the fifth straight year. Evans and the Buccaneers will start the playoffs by hosting the Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card Round.
After this season, Mike Evans has another year left in his contract. In addition to extending his streak, it could be the season when he breaks Rice’s record.
