Jahmyr Gibbs, Leonard Williams, Joshua Karty Named NFC's Best Players for December and January

The National Football League announced that Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs, Seattle Seahawks defensive end Leonard Williams, and Los Angeles Rams placekicker Joshua Karty are the National Football Conference’s best players for December 2024 and January 2025.

Throughout those two months, Gibbs carried the load of the Detroit backfield, especially with David Montgomery sidelined. The running back from Alabama had 439 rushing yards, 235 receiving yards, and nine touchdowns (six rushing).

His contributions helped the Lions win four games during that stretch. The most crucial game was their Week 18 win over the Minnesota Vikings, which earned them the NFC’s top seed and a bye from the Wild Card Round.

Meanwhile, Williams had 33 tackles (nine for losses), six yards, and a 92-yard interception touchdown return. The Seahawks won four of their six games over those two months and were on the brink of clinching a playoff berth. Unfortunately, they came short as the Los Angeles Rams won the NFC West.

Finally, Karty contributed 50 points for the Rams, converting all 13 field goal attempts and 11 point afters. Three of Karty’s field goals were from at least 50 yards. Karty helped the Rams win their division and earn a Wild Card Round game.
