The Kansas City Chiefs have clinched the AFC’s top seed with a 15-2 record, earning them a bye for the Wild Card Round. With their one-week rest over, they will be hosting the Houston Texans in the Divisional Round.
While the Texans are no pushovers, it’s hard to go against Patrick Mahomes in the Divisional Round. As the NFL on CBS on X/Twitter pointed out, Mahomes has won all his six Divisional Round games. In those matches, the two-time NFL Most Valuable Player has 1,813 total yards, 16 touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Mahomes has completed 70.4 percent of his passes in those games while registering a 115.8 passer rating.

Because he hasn’t lost in the Divisional Round, Mahomes has led the Chiefs to the AFC Championship Game every year he has become the team’s primary quarterback. Those AFC title game stints led to three Super Bowl titles in four appearances. Defeating the Texans will keep Kansas City’s goal of becoming the first NFL team to win three straight Super Bowl titles alive.
