Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets had a disappointing season, finishing with a 5-12 record. Just like in recent years, Rodgers left some breadcrumbs regarding his retirement (or not) as the season closed. However, he will use the offseason to determine his next move, be it to return or retire. Likewise, the moves by Jets ownership will help solidify his decision.
The four-time NFL Most Valuable Player shared on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ that his decision will depend on what his team will do with their hiring process for head coach and general manager. The Jets fired Robert Saleh five games into the season.
Jeff Ulbrich took over as an interim head coach but won only three of the last 12 games. Meanwhile, they let go of Joe Douglas after 11 games. Phil Savage took over but the Jets finished at 2-4 when he came in.

The Jets do have interesting players on both sides of the ball. However, the Jets’ head coaching and general manager hires will solidify Rodgers's decision.
