Around the NFL: Aaron Rodgers

I'm not a fan of Aaron Rodgers. I mean yeah he's a jerk of course, but I also think 40-year-old quarterbacks who tore their Achilles after just a handful of plays a year ago are poor investment opportunities. But I can't deny that if he stays healthy, he could be a fantasy steal.   more »

Aaron Rodgers Earned A Meager Sum For His 2023 Performance

After suffering an Achilles tear, Aaron Rodgers lasted only four snaps during the 2023 NFL season. Despite playing that little, he earned an additional $81.14. That’s not a misprint. He earned that much as part of the New York Jets’ performance-based pay.

Factoid: Tyrod Taylor

The Jets are going with Tyrod Taylor as their backup quarterback, and that seems like a good move. I don’t think it’s a realistic to plan on 40-year-old Aaron Rodgers to last all 17 games.  more »

Factoid: Mike Williams

I was looking some at Mike Williams, who recently signed with the Jets, and the numbers look a little better than I thought. He could prove to be a nice pickup.   more »

Around the NFL: Mike Williams

The Jets signed Mike Williams to a one-year contract yesterday, bringing him in to give the team a far better No. 2 than they had a year ago (when Aaron Rodgers convinced the team to sign Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb). I think it's fair to wonder, though, if Williams is the player he was at his best.   more »

Factoid: Anemic Jets

I’ve got the red zone numbers in front of me, and the stats for the Jets are even worse than I thought. They had a historically bad offense last year.   more »

Jets open practice window for Aaron Rodgers

The New York Jets’ promising 2023 NFL season met a screeching halt after Buffalo Bills defensive end/linebacker Leonard Floyd sacked Aaron Rodgers. Something was amiss after the four-time Most Valuable Player tried to get up.

Jets offense struggles vs. Cowboys

Fantasy owners had great expectations for the New York Jets offense heading into the 2023 NFL season. Unfortunately, things look very different with ZACH WILSON at the helm than they wereMore expected to look with AARON RODGERS at the controls. Wilson was just 12 of 27 for 170 yards and three interceptions in Sunday’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The Jets managed just one big play in the game, a 68-yard touchdown from Wilson to wide receiver GARRETT WILSON. The running game struggled as well, with DALVIN COOK and BREECE HALL both failing to do much on behalf of their fantasy owners. Less

Factoid: Wilson!

Aw, crap. What else to say? We’re not going to get 17 games of rejuvenated Aaron Rodgers. We’re getting instead Zach Wilson. And that makes Garrett Wilson look a lot more like Clark Kent than Superman.   more »

QB Wilson to lead Jets following Rodgers’ season ending injury

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh said on Tuesday that ZACH WILSON will be the team’s staring quarterback going forward with AARON RODGERS out for the season with a tornMore Achilles. Saleh told reporters that “Zach’s our quarterback”, adding that everyone is “excited for him”. Wilson had an uneven performance filling in for Rodgers after the veteran quarterback left the game after just four offensive plays. Less

QB Rodgers feared to have suffered torn Achilles in Jets debut

New York Jets quarterback AARON RODGERS is believed to have suffered a torn Achilles after getting twisted up awkwardly on a sack during the team’s first drive in Monday night’s gameMore against the Buffalo Bills. Jets head coach Robert Saleh told reporters in his postgame news conference that “it’s not good”. Rodgers is expected to undergo an MRI today. If the test confirms the diagnosis of an Achilles tear, Rodgers would be out for the season and the Jets would return to former quarterback of the future ZACH WILSON. Less

Big season ahead for “invigorated” QB Rodgers?

Future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady said this week that veteran quarterback AARON RODGERS will be “invigorated” in his first season with the New York Jets after moving on fromMore his long-time home in Green Bay. Brady added that he thinks Rodgers is “gonna have a great year” with the Jets. If anyone knows the feeling of a quarterback changing clubs late in a career, it’s Brady. Brady, of course, spent 20 seasons with the New England Patriots before moving to Tampa Bay at age 42 while leading the Bucs to a Super Bowl championship. Less

Cobb pushing Hardman as Jets WR3?

With veteran New York Jets wide receiver RANDALL COBB feeling the best he has in years, and head coach Robert Saleh repeatedly gushing about him, there could be a bigger roleMore than initially expected for him in the Jets receiving corps. Cobb obviously knows the offense and star quarterback AARON RODGERS, but he has also taken frequent first-team reps through training camp. While GARRETT WILSON and ALLEN LAZARD are set as the starters, fantasy owners will want to keep an eye on Cobb as he attempts to overtake fellow wide receiver MECOLE HARDMAN on the depth chart. Less
