Safety Micah Hyde has announced his retirement from the National Football League. The Green Bay Packers selected the former Iowa standout in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft. After playing out his four-year, $2.33 million rookie contract, Hyde signed a five-year, $30.5 million deal to join the Buffalo Bills.
It was with the Bills that Hyde left his mark as one of the league’s best defensive backs. He became a Second-Team All-Pro member and a Pro Bowler in 2017, his first season with the Bills. Hyde had another Second-Team All-Pro nod in 2021.
Hyde finished his career with 644 tackles, 66 passes defended, 24 interceptions, and eight fumble recoveries in 158 regular season games. He also had 69 tackles, nine passes defended, and two interceptions in 17 playoff games.
