Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith is a major factor in the team’s Super Bowl LIX victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. He had a 46-yard touchdown catch that had the Eagles up 33-0 and finished with 69 yards.
More importantly, the Vince Lombardi Trophy is another addition to his impressive championship haul. As the National Football League’s official account on X/Twitter pointed out, Smith became the fifth player to win the Heisman Trophy, a college football National Championship, and a Super Bowl. Only Tony Dorsett, Marcus Allen, Charles Woodson, and Reggie Bush did it before Smith.
It was a homecoming for the wideout from Louisiana as he helped the Eagles win the Super Bowl at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. It’s a fitting backstory for an accomplished player who started playing football at Amite High Magnet School before attending the University of Alabama.

Smith was a member of the 2017 National Championship Team for the Crimson Tide. Three years later, he had his best season as a college football player and helped Alabama win another national title.
In addition to winning the 2020 Heisman Trophy, he also took home the Fred Biletnikoff Award, the Paul Hornung Award, the Walter Camp Award, and the Maxwell Trophy. The same year, he was a Unanimous All-American and a First-Team All-SEC member.
Smith had a career-high eight touchdowns for Philadelphia during the 2024 NFL season. Meanwhile, that touchdown catch in Super Bowl LIX made him the first drafted Alabama player to score a touchdown in the big game. Likewise, it was his only touchdown reception during the 2024 playoffs.
