The Miami Dolphins added Bobby Slowik to their coaching staff as senior passing game coordinator. This transition comes after the Houston Texans fired him after their Divisional Round loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Slowik was once a hot coaching candidate after his scheme helped C.J. Stroud become the 2023 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. Stroud’s emergence helped the Texans improve from three wins in 2022 to ten the following year. Likewise, Slowik’s offense helped the Texans defeat the Cleveland Browns in the Wild Card Round.

Unfortunately, a year made much difference for Slowik as the Texans finished the 2024 season with another 10-7 record. While they dominated the Los Angeles Chargers in the Wild Card Round, they fell short against the Chiefs.
From an offense featuring Stroud, Joe Mixon, Nico Collins, and Tank Dell, Slowik will now work with an explosive Dolphins offense with Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill, and Jaylen Waddle. Despite that talented unit, injuries limited them to an 8-9 record. Hence, they might need Slowik’s ingeniuity to boost their offense.
