The New Orleans Saints officially hired Kellen Moore as their head coach. He will replace Darren Rizzi, who was the team’s interim head coach for the last eight games of the 2024 NFL season. Rizzi took over Dennis Allen, who was fired after nine games.
Moore helped the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. It was his first and only season as Eagles offensive coordinator, guiding a unit featuring Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Offensive Player of the Year Saquon Barkley.

Before joining the Eagles, Moore coached the same capacity for the Los Angeles Chargers under Brandon Staley. The former quarterback started his coaching career as Dallas Cowboys quarterback coach.
He eventually became the Cowboys offensive coordinator for four seasons before joining the Chargers. Moore suited up for the Cowboys and the Detroit Lions in his brief playing career.
Moore will take over the team that hasn’t been to the playoffs for the last four seasons. They finished the season at 5-12, their worst record since 2005. The new Saints head coach will have a hand in figuring out the team’s quarterback situation.
