The Green Bay Packers welcome back a familiar face as they re-hire Luke Getsy as senior offensive assistant. Getsy was a long-time coach for the Packers, serving various roles. He started as offensive quality control coach before becoming the Packers’ wide receivers coach.
After a one-year stint at Mississippi State, Getsy returned to the Packers as quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator. Helping the Packers secure division titles prompted their division rivals, the Chicago Bears, to hire him as their offensive coordinator.
However, after two seasons with the Bears, he joined the Las Vegas Raiders in the same capacity. The results didn’t turn out well in Las Vegas, leading to his ouster after the team fell to 2-7. While he returned to Green Bay in a part-time role after his firing, the Packers hired him full-time for the 2025 season.

Getsy will be involved in an offense featuring Jordan Love, Josh Jacobs, Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, Luke Musgrave, and Tucker Kraft. The Packers have made the playoffs the past two seasons and won a playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys. This young but talented unit could benefit from Getsy’s ideas.
