While Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman suffered an ankle sprain during their regular season home finale, it did not deter him from having a fantastic postseason, especially in the World Series. He became the MVP after hitting home runs in the first four World Series games while batting .300 in five games.
With the Commissioner’s Trophy in the bag, Freeman underwent offseason surgery to repair his ankle. Since then, he hasn’t participated in any Spring Training activity, until February 27, when he debuted for the Dodgers against the Colorado Rockies.

Facing Bradley Blalock on the top of the first, Freeman sent the ball to right field for his first Spring Training hit. While that’s only one of five Dodgers hits and they didn’t score a run, seeing Freeman in good health boosts the Dodgers’ winning hopes.
From here, Freeman will likely play during the Dodgers’ first two games against the Chicago Cubs on March 18 and 19 in Tokyo. For the first time in his career, he will be returning to the team he helped win the World Series.
