The New York Giants own the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and there’s no certainty of what they will do with it. With so many holes in their roster, they could go several ways with it. However, based on sources, SNYtv NFL reporter Connor J. Hughes thinks the Giants are considering former Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart on that spot.
Hughes said, “Sources I touched base with said he's someone Brian Daboll is high on — most out of QBs other than Cam Ward. Among qualities Daboll values in QBs is toughness. Dart has that.”
With Cam Ward likely going to the Tennessee Titans with the first overall pick, other teams looking for a quarterback must consider other options. Dart could be a solid choice if he keeps or exceeds the production level that made him a First-Team All-SEC member and Conerly Trophy winner last year.
During his final year at Ole Miss, Dart completed 69.3 percent of his throws for 4,279 passing yards, 29 touchdowns, and only six interceptions. His numbers helped the Rebels go 9-3 before defeating Duke in the Taxslayer Gator Bowl.
An offensive-minded head coach like Brian Daboll could maximize Jaxson Dart’s capabilities. Likewise, not being the first quarterback off the board could relieve some pressure that comes with the demanding NFL standards.
