Titans likely to hold on to their top overall pick

Days leading to the 2025 NFL Draft, speculations arose that the Tennessee Titans might trade out of the number one overall pick. With several positions of need, trading away from number one could give them additional assets to address more positions of need.

However, NFL Network national insider Ian Rapoport stated that after months of speculation, the Titans will use their pick as they go on the clock. Most likely, the Titans will select former Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward.

The Titans haven’t had success at quarterback in recent years. After letting Ryan Tannehill go, they tried Malik Willis and Will Levis. However, none of those two quarterbacks panned out. Willis is now with the Green Bay Packers, while Levis will be out soon after the Titans draft Ward.

Tennessee hopes that Ward will be the franchise quarterback they’ve been seeking for a while. His stats during his lone season with Miami (305 completions, 4,313 passing yards, 39 touchdowns) should give Titans fans hope that he’s the guy.
