NFL.com analysts and writers share their 2025 draft predictions

With the 2025 NFL draft happening tomorrow, NFL.com analysts and writers share their predictions on how the opening round will unfold.

Lead draft writer Eric Edholm believes that four quarterbacks will take the stage in the first round, adding that the New Orleans Saints and the Pittsburgh Steelers to the teams who might select a QB. Both teams face uncertainty about who their starter is leading into the 2025 NFL season, motivating them to upgrade their depth chart.

Meanwhile, draft analyst Chad Reuter believes that Ashton Jeanty will be a top five pick. He sees the former Boise State standout going off the board before the Las Vegas Raiders are on the clock. The New York Giants could explore getting Jeanty after losing Saquon Barkley. Likewise, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the New England Patriots could also take the Doak Walker Award winner.

NFL.com columnist Jeffri Chadiha thinks at least seven pass rushers will be off the board in Round 1. After Abdul Carter, Jalon Walker, and Mykel Williams, other potential first-rounders include Donovan Ezeiruaku, Mike Green, and James Pearce Jr.

Finally, former NFL running back Maurice Jones-Drew sees four running backs getting drafted in Day 1. After Jeanty, Omarion Hampton, TreVeyon Henderson, and Quinshon Jenkins could be taken in the first 32 picks.
