Aaron Rodgers against the Packers. That ones gets your attention, does it not? I’m thinking he’ll be up for that game.
It makes me think of Brett Favre’s return to Lambeau, Peyton Manning in a gunfight against Andrew Luck, and Tom Brady hanging on for a win at Foxboro.
Pulling up the list of the top 20 all-time touchdown passers, I see 11 such games, where a quarterback squared off against the team where he became famous.
The transplanted quarterbacks have tended to come out on top in these matchups, going 7-4 while averaging 285 passing yards, with 21 touchdowns versus only 4 interceptions.
I don’t think Aaron Rodgers will put up a big yardage total, but I would think he’ll be good for a couple of touchdowns.
