Championship Game Rankings

Maye, Walker, Nacua and Henry best at positions

We've broken down all four teams playing this weekend; now to look at how the rankings shake out. Glancing them over I don't see a ton of surprises, but a few notes of explanation are warranted.

First off, with New England at Denver, there are some injuries to factor, especially at wide receiver. The Patriots hope to get Mack Hollins (abdomen) back from IR, but one limited practice in two days is not enough for me to consider that particularly likely to happen. I gave him a conditional ranking, but no one should seriously be considering him (if he practices fully today, maybe).

Denver lost both Pat Bryant (concussion) and Troy Franklin (hamstring) in the win over Buffalo. When I previewed them earlier this week I assumed both would be out. In fact, Bryant practiced fully yesterday, so for now I'm expecting he'll clear he protocol, play, and be their 2nd-best wide receiver. Franklin has got in limited practices both days; encouraging, but not enough for me to consider him likely to play (and even if he were fully healthy, seems like he'd be their No. 4, based on what Bryant initially and Marvin Mims once Bryant and Franklin were sidelined did against the Bills. But likely enough that one or both of these wideouts will be available that I don't expect Lil'Jordan Humphrey to be a factor (that changes, of course, if Bryant and/or Franklin is ruled out).

I'm also assuming J.K. Dobbins returns to start and be the best bet for rushing yards (and goal-line carries), but RJ Harvey, for receiving work and health is the one I'd prefer to use in PPR formats.

Rams-Seahawks doesn't look too affected by injury, with the exception of two Seahawks, one who's out (Zach Charbonnet having torn his ACL last week) and one who's uncertain to play (left tackle Charles Cross, who hasn't practiced either of the first two days with a foot injury).

Rankings are sorted by PPR scoring.

For defenses, rankings based on 1 point for sacks, 2 for takeaways, and 6 for touchdowns (including kick returns); there's also a points allowed component. In general, the matchups dictate these; I don't think New England's defense is better than Seattle's, but I'd rather start one facing Jarrett Stidham than Matthew Stafford.
