Giants, Blue Jays win Spring Training championships

The San Francisco Giants and the Toronto Blue Jays were the champions of their respective Spring Training leagues. The Giants won the Cactus League, where all National League teams compete, while the Blue Jays won the Grapefruit League where all American League teams participated.

The format is simple: The MLB split National League and American League teams between the two competitions wherein each team will play the other 14 teams twice, giving them 28 total games. The Blue Jays had the best record at 18-10, besting the Houston Astros (16-12) and the Boston Red Sox (15-12).

Meanwhile, the Giants have the best record in the Cactus League at 20-6 while second place Kansas City Royals is at 19-12. While they have been declared champions, some teams have remaining Spring Training games.

In the AL, the Atlanta Braves, New York Yankees, Detroit Tigers, Minnesota Twins, and Miami Marlins have remaining preseason games. On the flipside, the Royals, the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Colorado Rockies, the Texas Rangers, the Cleveland Guardians, and the Los Angeles Angels have some spring training games left. Meanwhile, the Chicago Cubs and the Los Angeles Dodgers have some tuneup games even if they have played two regular season games under the Tokyo Series.
