Around the NFL: Late-round wide receivers
Green Bay drafted three wide receivers from the fourth through the sixth round last April, and some (including me) thought one of them might emerge as a significant receiver in their rookie season. Maybe Randall Cobb would get hurt, or maybe one of them would beat out Geronimo Allison for No. 3 duties in the Aaron Rodgers-led offense. Well, nope. more »

Allison to win No. 3 receiver job in Green Bay?
Green Bay wide receiver GERONIMO ALLISON, 24, is believed to have a great shot at winning the No. 3 receiver job for the Packers. With RANDALL COBB likely being brought along… More slowly as he recovers from an ankle injury, Allison should certainly see the field plenty. With AARON RODGERS at the helm, Allison could certainly have fantasy value if he gets the job done in camp. Less

JORDY… More NELSON, meanwhile, remains questionable and his status should be monitored up until game time. Depending on how the injuries shake out, wide receiver GERONIMO ALLISON could get into the fantasy mix against the Bengals. Less

Around the NFL: Injured Packers expected to play
The Packers promoted Max McMaffrey -- son of former Bronco wideout Ed McCaffrey, yes we're old -- from the practice squad yesterday, but it looks like he's an insurance policy. Jordy Nelson (ribs), Davante Adams (ankle) and Geronimo Allison (hamstring) are all expected to be active and play against Atlanta. more »

Emerging WR Allison gives Packers another weapon
As Green Bay wide receiver RANDALL COBB continues to deal with an ankle injury, fellow wide receiver GERONIMO ALLISON has been taking advantage of his opportunity. Allison was the Packers leading… More receiver in Green Bay’s biggest game of the season last week against Detroit. Cobb is officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s playoff game against the New York Giants, although he is expected to play. Less
