Ravens RB Dobbins to be ready for season opener? “We’ll See”

Taking a page out of former Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer’s playbook, Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh offered a definitive “We’ll see” when asked about running back J.K. Ravens running backs to start camp on PUP list

The Baltimore Ravens placed six players who suffered season-ending injuries in 2021 on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list for the start of training camp this week. Around the NFL: Baltimore running backs

There was a big kerfuffle on Twitter yesterday, in which J.K. Dobbins (pictured) called out NFL.com's Ian Rapoport for suggesting he might not be ready for Week 1 while returning from an ACL injury. It highlighted the good and bad of Twitter: the bad is that anyone can say anything, the good is that sometimes the famous person will set the record straight.   more »

Ravens sign veteran RB Davis

The Baltimore Ravens signed veteran running back MIKE DAVIS to a one-year deal worth just over $1.2 million dollars for the upcoming season. The move adds depth to a Ravens backfieldMore that saw three running backs go down with season-ending injuries last year before the 2021 season began. If running backs J.K. DOBBINS and GUS EDWARDS miss any time in 2022 as they continue to recover from their injuries, Davis could be expected to get a heavy workload early in the season. Less

Around the NFL: Mike Davis

The Ravens had Latavius Murray, Devonta Freeman and LeVeon Bell cycle through their backfield last year. They’ve agreed on a contract with a similar kind of back: Mike Davis.  more »

Around the NFL: Melvin Gordon

The fantasy world, it seems, is desperate to find out where Melvin Gordon is going to sign. The latest has him talking with the Baltimore Ravens about a contract, a signing that would simultaneously buoy the value of Javonte Williams and crush that of J.K. Dobbins. Just sign already, Melvin!  more »

Ravens sign RB Bell to practice squad

The Baltimore Ravens are signing veteran running back LE’VEON BELL to the team’s practice squad. Bell is expected to move to the active roster after practicing with the team if allMore goes well and according to plan. The Ravens lost running back J.K. DOBBINS to a torn ACL in their final preseason game and JUSTICE HILL to a torn Achilles in a recent practice. Bell, meanwhile, has gone from the top of fantasy draft boards just a few seasons ago to mostly a fantasy afterthought. Time will tell if he takes advantage of his latest opportunity. Less

MRI confirms Dobbins injury, Ravens RB out for 2021 season

Around the NFL: Gus Edwards

One series. That's how much the Ravens starters played against Washington last night, and that's how long it took for starting running back J.K. Dobbins to be carted off after taking a low hit to the knee that bent his leg backwards in a way human limbs shouldn't go. Sean McVay is nodding grimly.   more »

Factoid: 2nd-half running backs

I think everyone has a good sense of who the top running backs are; it's the next tier that's hazy. Players in committees, or injury-prone, or stuck on bad teams or likely to cede passing down work. Picking the right players in those 3rd through 6th rounds of drafts can make or break a fantasy team.   more »

Ravens and RB Edwards agree to contract extension

The Baltimore Ravens and running back GUS EDWARDS reached an agreement on a two-year contract extension earlier this week. Edwards has been a productive and valuable running back during his threeMore seasons in Baltimore after entering the league as an undrafted free agent. Edwards and second-year running back J.K. DOBBINS are expected to provide a formidable one-two punch to lead Baltimore’s ground attack heading into the 2021 season. Less
