Lions QB Goff set to return for Week #17

The Detroit Lions activated starting quarterback JARED GOFF from the Covid-19 Reserve list on Monday and he should be ready to roll for the team’s Week #17 matchup against the SeattleMore Seahawks on Sunday. With Goff returning, the short but painful TIM BOYLE era comes to an end in Detroit. While Goff is returning to action, he will be without wide receiver JOSH REYNOLDS. Reynolds was added to the Covid-19 Reserve list on Monday. Less

Lions QB Goff could return vs. Bears

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell said on Monday that quarterback JARED GOFF felt better on Monday and “looked pretty good” throwing the football during walkthrough reps. Goff was listed asMore a limited participant on Detroit’s estimated practice report as he appears to be trending in the right direction ahead of Thursday’s Thanksgiving Day game against the Chicago Bears. Detroit backup QB Boyle out indefinitely

The Detroit Lions quarterback room took a hit with backup quarterback TIM BOYLE set to miss an indefinite period of time after breaking his right throwing thumb in the team’s preseasonMore finale last week against the Indianapolis Colts. Around the NFL: Tim Boyle

I was surprised to see the size of the contract the Lions gave Tim Boyle. They not only signed him, they gave him a contract that will make him an above-average backup quarterback, salary wise.  more »

Packers backup QB’s unimpressive in offseason workouts

Packers quarterback AARON RODGERS seems to be learning the new offense in Green Bay, but the same can not be said for backups DESHONE KIZER and TIM BOYLE. With the offseasonMore program and team minicamp now in the books, Kizer and Boyle reportedly have not been very good. Youth, inexperience, and a new offense could be partially to blame, but the backups will need a better showing when training camp begins next month. Less
