The Tampa Bay Bucs hired former New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles to be their new defensive coordinator on Wednesday. Bowles coached with new head coach Bruce Arians in Arizona, where his defenses had some success.

Bowles won’t reveal starting QB

Jets defensive coordinator likely to miss Sunday’s game

New York Jets defensive coordinator Kacy Rodgers missed practice Friday and likely will not coach on Sunday due to an undisclosed health condition. Rodgers is the defensive play-caller for the Jets but head coach Todd Bowles is expected to handle that responsibility when the Jets face the Denver Broncos.

Update - Bowles out of hospital, to coach Jets today

New York Jets coach Todd Bowles will coach today against the New England Patriots after being hospitalized Friday, the team announced. Bowles spent Friday in the hospital before traveling to New England to rejoin the Jets at the team hotel this morning.

Jets coach Bowles hospitalized

New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles was hospitalized Friday afternoon with an undisclosed illness and did not accompany the team to New England for today’s game. Bowles’ status for the game is uncertain but if he is unavailable, assistant head coach Mike Caldwell will coach the team.
