The NFL keeps changing rules to favor offenses, and the result has been scoring production that we've seen seen before.
How much is too much? With the rules constantly getting tweaked in favor of offenses, scoring keeps going up and up.
At what point do yards and points become so cheap that the NFL becomes more like the NBA?
Personally, I like to see some defense. I thought the 49ers-Seahawks playoff game was a lot better than that first-round shootout between Kansas City and the Colts.
But the game has changed, and I don’t think the lower scores we saw in the past are coming back anytime soon.
Last year, teams averaged 375 points. That’s 76 more than the average from 20 years ago. In six of the past seven years, scoring has been higher than ever before in league history. It’s a new NFL.
