Seattle offensive line

Seattle looked awfully strong at the end of last year, blowing away the Broncos. Now they’ve got to try to get back and do it again.

First on their to do-list is taking care of their pass rush. Michael Bennett is a free agent, and they’d like to have him back.

More quietly, the offensive line can’t be ignored. Pass protection was an issue at times in 2013. Part of that can be attributed to injuries, but it also simply underachieved at times.

During the 2013 regular season, in fact, Russell Wilson was hit more often on pass plays than any other quarterback in the league. That’s not just sacks but also plays where he was hit as he was throwing.

He was hit on 20 percent of his pass plays last year. That was more than any other team in the league.

Andy Dalton, Peyton Manning and Tony Romo were the quarterbacks who were hit the least often.

Of the 10 teams that had their quarterbacks hit most often, only two made the playoffs – Seattle and Indianapolis.
