The Ravens are going with Gary Kubiak as their offensive coordinator this year. I think this is good for Dennis Pitta.
Pitta is one of the better pass-catching tight ends in the league, and he’s been very good in the red zone. He’s caught 11 touchdowns in his last 24 games. He missed most of last year with a hip injury, but he’s fine now. He returned late last season and caught 20 passes and a touchdown in the final four games.
With Houston, Kubiak always used his tight ends a lot more than the Ravens have. Over the last five years, the tight ends for the Texans have caught 76 more passes for 1,319 more yards and 8 more touchdowns than their counterparts in Baltimore.
Pitta will be in my top 10, and he’ll be a guy I will definitely be interested in at that position. I’m still in the lengthy process of scouting each team, but he might wind up being a top-5 tight end on my board.
