I’ve finished another draft. That’s six leagues I’m in now. And the same names are tending to show up.
Julian Edelman, Randall Cobb, Roddy White. These are guys you’ll tend to get if you use my player list. They’re all on five of my six teams.
Next in line are Brandin Cooks, Lamar Miller, Markus Wheaton, Stephen Gostkowski and Tom Brady. They’re all on two thirds of my teams.
It’s that corps of players that will tend to dictate whether I win any championships this year. If those guys get hurt or underachieve, then I start sliding to mediocre. If they hit it big, I could be bagging multiple titles.

Here’s my most recent team, from the Fanex National League draft. The National League, I’m embarrassed to say, is the Second Division of that competition (it’s a 24-team competition separated into two tiers). Over the last 10 years, I’ve won more games and scored more points than anyone in that league, but I had a mediocre season last year, finishing 7th out of 12 teams in scoring and with just a 5-9 record. So I got relegated down to the National for the first time. Hopefully it will be a one-year stay.
Nothing too special to say about this team. Same kind of strategy I tend to employ in this format. You’ll see Edelman, White and Cooks at wide receiver. I went with Jimmy Graham in the first round, so not quite as strong at wide receiver as one of my typical teams.
I took three quarterbacks (rather than the preferred two) because I find myself being drawn to the upside potential of Ryan Tannehill and Carson Palmer as backups. Roster moves are allowed in this league, so no need to carry backups at TE, PK or Defense. Used those spots instead of handcuff-type running backs instead. I have nine running backs. Two “starters” (Bernard-Richardson), hopefully another decent starter (or two) out of the New Orleans pair (Ingram-Robinson) and five backups who are an injury away from being contributers (Starks, Bradshaw, Polk, Draughn, McKinnon).
